Bled with kids - summer toboggan and a swim in the lake
What to do in Bled with kids? We fitted three things into one day: a chairlift ride up Straža, a ride down the 520-metre summer toboggan run, and a swim in the lake with a view of the island and its church.
By chairlift up Straža
On 13 August we drove only 15 km from Camping Šobec to Bled. First we went to Straža, a small hill right above the lake. In winter it is a ski slope, and in summer there is a toboggan run. You go up by chairlift, and from the top you can see the whole lake and the island.

At the top there is a big wooden frame where everyone takes a photo with the lake behind them. So did we.
Down on the toboggan
The toboggans run down a metal track along the slope. The younger kids rode together with dad.
Swimming in Lake Bled
After the toboggan we walked down to the lake. The water was clear and turquoise, and from a low wall by the shore you could step straight into the water, with the island and the church in the background. Pletna boats, which take visitors to the island, were waiting at the piers, and on one pier there is a big heart-shaped frame. A photo in it was a must.

We had lunch at a restaurant, and in the evening we went back to the campsite and once more down to the river to work on our stone dam.
You can see the toboggan ride and our swim in the video:
The day before we walked through Vintgar Gorge. The next day we had a long drive home.
