Here we are!
Few words about our travel. We flew with Ryanair from Poznań Airport (POZ) to Oslo Rygge Airport (RYG). Destination airport is about 70 km away from Oslo, located nearby Moss town.
Check in at the Polish side was very detailed. First every passenger need to pass the gate reacting to metal items. Boarding went very quickly and efficiently, mainly because we had bought seats reservation on a plane, so our ticket was prioritized. Flight was very quick. (approximately 1.5 hours). Ryanair are budget lines, we saw a lot of differences between charter flight and this. However for Kris it was first flight in his life, so it was nice adventure for him. Price for flight was extremely low, with seat reservation it costs about 100 PLN per person for RT ticket including seat reservation fee. I was wondering how it is possible to sell tickets so cheap.
When we arrived to Norway we went to the free airport bus that is dedicated for passengers who need to get to train station located about 2 km away. Bus driver was selling train tickets to Oslo.
I noticed nice surprise. Children ticket is free when kid is traveling with adult. Nice.
There is no need to book tickets online. There is same price as on the spot.
Norway has welcome us with temperature about 10 Celsius degrees.
Few minutes later train arrived. It was full electric train. Very quiet and comfortable. It’s so huge difference between this train and the ones we can met in Poland. Travel by train took about 1 hour and it costs 140 NOK. We arrived to Oslo central rail station – Oslo Sentralstasjon.
We booked a room in Comfot Hotel Børsparken – nice hotel located few minutes of walk from rail station. Its location is very nice, from top floor we can see Oslo Opera building. When we check-in in the hotel we’ve got room card as a key.
In the hotel rest room there was coffee machine available to use by guests all day. It also offers other drinks like tea, hot water, warm chocolate). Especially last one made happiness on Kris’s face.
We hit the hotel at 5:30pm so it was pretty early to go out and explore some neighborhood.
