We drove to the campsite in Narew National Park. On one side we found the campsite that we wanted, and on the other side, wildlife that surrounded us. We couldn’t have chosen better!
The campsite is located right on the bank of the Narew river. There are some educational paths which we can use to enter the wildlife areas, and observation towers from which you can admire the beauty of the river. A revelation.
The “Among the Swamp” footbridge is a trail with a total length of 1 km, of which 600 meters are footbridges. On the route there are 13 information boards that describe the surrounding nature.
We divided our explorations into two days. On the first evening we saw the footbridge near the Kurowo forest district. On the second day we went to the village Waniewo to access a second footbridge and crossing Waniewo-Śliwno. Despite a warning that the water level was low and it might not be possible to use the river crossing, we succeeded. Kris himself decided to pull the floating footbridge. The crossing was operated manually, and he had to pull the chain to move the ferry.
On the other side of the crossing we met a Narew National Park guard, who collected a fee. With the Large Family Card we had free entrance to the park.
We met fishermen who were fishing at a fast-flowing stretch of the river. We went to the observation tower. And in the tourist information area, the children had fun on the playground.
