Norwegian Maritime Museum

We went to explore the next museum, located opposite the Fram museum. This time, the Norwegian Maritime Museum. We could find there an overview of the history and techniques of the Navy. It was the largest of the museums we visited that day. It has a huge collection of exhibits and some of them are downright amazing.

You can, for example, compare materials (weight, hardness, thickness) of which ships were built. Kris most liked mini model of marine engine that can be run by pressing button.

There was also a large collection of lamps used in lighthouses, the interior of an old ship, scale models of passenger ships, commercial ships, oil rigs …

Maritimt-museum-2

For children they made a special play area, where you could watch a cartoon, draw a picture and hang it on the wall. Kris colored a painting and hung it on the wall.

Maritimt-museum-4
