Camping Šobec - a stone dam in an ice-cold river
Camping Šobec is near Lesce, a short drive from Bled, on the Sava Dolinka river. For us it was the best place of our 2021 summer holiday, and there was one reason: the river.
A pitch right by the water
We arrived on the afternoon of 11 August, after Postojna Cave. After a week in a mobile home we put up our tents again and got a pitch right next to the river. In the morning we had breakfast on the grass, and a few steps away there was a pebble beach.

The river and the stone dam
Here the Sava Dolinka is shallow, wide and very clear. The water is really cold, though. Nobody minded: we went in every day.
The most fun was building a dam out of stones. After our day in Bled we sat by the river again until the evening and kept making our dam better.

The campsite
Šobec is a campsite among the trees, with playgrounds and pitches for tents, caravans and campervans. The big sights are close: Vintgar Gorge was 9 km away and Lake Bled 15 km.
